LIVING BALL IN VRYHEID
The Dutch Reformed Church in Vryheid invited the Living Ball team to minister to the children during the week of Pentecost. Three evening services were conducted at the church and on the last night a lot of the children invited Jesus into their hearts. During day time, we were fortunate to visit 7 schools and we also ministered to a rugby team. About 1500 children were reached with the Gospel. Many thanks to Ronell, AP, Tiaan, Karin, Wykie and everyone else who made this outreach possible!

Ampie Prinsloo, a friend of Living Ball, arranged a visit to the Malvern Children’s Home. Rudolf Straueli (former Springbok Rugby Coach and Player) and Jannie du Plessis (Springbok Rugby Player) joined him. Rudolf explained to the children the message of the four colors, and how fortunate we as Christians are to serve a Mighty God. His message to the children was that they should play for the best Team, which is the Team of Jesus. |

The recent cycle tour from Pretoria to the MMC09 in Greytown started on the 18th of April and ended on the farm Shalom, outside Greytown where the Mighty Men Conference started on the 24th of April. The Cycle Tour all started with a dream...Philip Kemp, an ex-Springbok cyclist, and Gavin Mong, a Living Ball helper in Pretoria told Franna Cillie about their dream to go down to the MMC09 with bicycles, and to reach out to the towns on the way with the Gospel. Franna then got these two men together, and the Cycle for Christ Tour was "born". The tour group, co-ordinated by Peter Zeelie, left Pretoria the 18th of April with 21 cyclists and 4 members of the CMA (Christian Motorcycle Association), coordinating the cyclists and traffic, a leading vehicle, an ambulance, a "bicycle shop on wheels", a truck with baggage and equipment, the Living Ball 4x4 with the Living Ball Trailer (used for the outreaches) and 7 other vehicles. |

The first stage ended in Heidelberg where an Industrial School for boys were visited. The Voice Camelion, Erich Postimus, entertained the boys and the Gospel was shared with them and each boy was blessed with a Living Ball. We had the opportunity to pray for every boy and the school. The second stage ended in Standerton where another two Industrial School (Boys and Girls) were visited. The Voice Camelion visited the Girls' School and bikers from the CMA visited the boys' school. They shared their testimonies with the boys and did a few "burn outs' with the motorbikes. The Living Ball Team visited a school in the township where Kids Games were played with about 800 children. Gavin also shared the Gospel with the teachers and the parents present. Living Balls were presented to the Head Master which will be used to develop the sport at this school. Three churches also invited Living Ball to their Sunday evening services where the concept of Living Ball was explained to the congregations and the churches was challenged to get involved in the 2010 Soccer World Cup Campaign. At one of the services, we met up with Pastor Jimmy Abbot (see photo). He also gave his blessing to Living Ball and assured us of his support and prayers. The third stage was the toughest due to cold weather and rain on the road. It ended in New Castle where the group used the opportunity to share their testimonies amongst each other. Living Ball did an unplanned outreached at a small group of the church where we stayed. We also shared the Good News using the Living Balls to some of the people we met on the road, including small villages, and some of the traffic officials we met along the road. The fourth stage ended in Ladysmith. We stayed at the Morester Children's' Home. We ministered to all the children using Kids Games and testimonies. The touring group also had the opportunity to share one on one to all the children. The last stage ended in Greytown at the Engen Service Station where a group of tired but very excited cyclists, ended their journey! One of the cyclists had the desire to be baptized when he reached Greytown, and the ceremony took place in the forecourt of the petrol station. Another four members of the tour was also baptized. What an awesome experience! The whole group descended onto the Shalom farm to attend the MMC09 event. |
