CHARLES VAN ZYL REPORTS…
LIVING BALL TOGETHER WITH THE SAPS VAALRAND FLYING SQUAD REACHES OUT TO SEDIBENG ORPHANAGE
Living Ball together with the SAPS Vaalrand Flying Squad visited an orphanage in Vereeniging. At this orphanage 12 children are housed temporally awaiting their placement with foster parents. The Gospel was brought to the children using the Living Ball as tool. The Police also took their finger prints and Inspector Jaco van Rooyen told them that each one of them is unique just as their finger prints are, and God loves each and every one. The highlight was when all of them were locked up in the back of a police van and raced through the streets, siren and all. Each child became the proud owner of a Living Ball. We trust and pray that the seed sowed, will carry good fruit!
LIVING BALL JOINS LAERSKOOL VOORPOS DURING THEIR CHILDREN'S PROTECTION WEEK
Living Ball visited Laerskool Voorpos in Waverley, Pretoria as part of the Children's Protection Week. We played games with them and shared the Gospel with them using the Living Ball sport balls. We also focused a lot on respect and that each child must have respect for his own body. We had the opportunity to reach out to each child. The pupils and teachers from Laerskool Voorpos were all a huge blessing to us! Thank you to Mr Marius Swart, the Headmaster, for giving us the opportunity to visit his school and to Mr Philip Kemp for organizing the program!
LIVING BALL DONATED SOCCER BALLS TO CHANGE THE WORLD TRUST
The report from Natalie Emery:
"The soccer balls were given on Mandiba's Birthday to two different
institutions: Lambano Sanctuary and Ithembelilhe LSEN School. There were 35 orphans at the first place and over 160 physically disabled children at the second. We organized two awesome "Fun days" for the children, including games (of which football was a hit for all the boys!), face painting, snacks, cake and hotdogs, and story books for each child. We want to thank you for helping us with the five soccer balls: the children loved them and we played for a long time! I've attached a few photos. Again, thank you for helping us bring joy to these little ones! God bless you and keep up the good work!"
LIVING BALL VISITS HOLIDAY CLUBS DURING SOCCER WORLD CUP SCHOOL HOLIDAYS:
Living Ball was fortunate to be involved in many Holiday Club activities that took place during World Cup month. Hundreds of children attended these Holiday Clubs and Living Ball had the opportunity to share the Good News to the children and with the help of Andre from PHD for Jesus, the children played some games and really enjoyed themselves.
What a great opportunity to use the Soccer World Cup as a starting point to spread the Gospel. Please pray with us that all the seed that was sown during this time, will reap a big harvest!
COMMUNITY OUTREACH: PRETORIA
Living Ball reached out to the community. We saw some children climbing up the rugby posts at the sports fields in Jan Niemand Park. We decided to call them to the fence and share the Message with them. We also blessed them with a soccer ball and a rugby ball to keep them busy and "off the posts". What a awesome manner to spread the Gospel and to get some sport balls into the community.
We also joined a group of girls in Magnolia Dell and shared the Good News with them.
NEW SOCCER TEAM KEEPS YOUTH FROM STREETS
Rakgadi Mahuma from East Lynne, Pretoria decided to form a soccer team to keep the youth away from being involved in criminal activities and drug abuse. The Terminators United Football Club was officially launched on Youth day and played a friendly match with East Lynne Stars and won the match 4-0. Although they do not have a training ground, they train 5 times a week on a community park next to a shopping centre in East Lynne. Living Ball decided to bless them with 5 soccer balls, and some markers. On the photo's you will notice Franna explaining the Good News to them. The woman on the photo is Rakgadi, and the other people are the captain and the coach of the team, and some of the supporters. At the moment they have about 25 players training every week day.

Living Ball attended the "Jesus Fees" festival in Meyerton. Well known artists like Bobby van Jaarsveld and Nedine Blom performed. Church visit in Hammanskraal
Ramotse Baptist Church in Hammanskraal, north of Pretoria, invited Franna to conduct their Sunday morning service. A Living Ball soccer ball was used to illustrate to the people that we must get out of the darkness and into the light. Each church member were challenged to invite one person to the next Sunday service. This was to explain to them not to keep the Good News to themselves, but to go out and share it. After heavy rain falls, the Living Ball team had to use their 4x4 skills to get from the church to the main road. What a humbling experience to see the facilities at this church - note the bus seats that are used for seating in the church.
The Drie Riviere Bulletjie Rugby Team in Vereeniging
Charles van Zyl visited the Drie Riviere Bulletjie Rugby Team in Vereeniging. He explained the Message to them, and blessed the team with a Rugby Ball. Living Ball was proud to be the official ball supplier for this tournament. 20 rugby teams and 18 netball teams participated in this festival. All these matches were played with the Living Ball sport balls. The balls stood the test as you can notice on some of the photo's, that a lot of rain fell during the festival. We received a lot of compliments regarding the quality and the grip of our Living Ball sport balls in these rainy conditions. Living Ball at the Pretoria Catholic Centre
Franna was invited to the Pta Catholic Centre in Sunnyside, Pretoria. The Message was shared to about 60 children who are growing up in this "concrete jungle" of Pretoria. What a privilege to leave some Living Ball sport balls behind to give these children hope in Jesus Christ and in sport. We trust, that by keeping these children busy with sport, they will stay off the streets and out of trouble!
Turn to God at the Union Buildings in Pretoria
Thousands of Christians gathered together to pray for South Africa. Known speakers like the Evangelist Angus Buchan and Bennie Mostert were present. ...and Living Ball was invited to join them. Gerhard and Ilse, owners of Caltex Colbyn, and also one of our loyal supporters, invited us to join them for their first birthday as new owners of this Petrol Station. On the 12th of Fbruary 2010, our annual golf day took place. We were really blessed as the Course was in tip top condition and the weather was excellent. A special thanks to Martin and Etienne from IBO for making this day possible.
A big thanks to Frans and Theresa, Roelf and Nico for their efforts to make this day an enormous success!

After a wonderful praise and worship session, Franna shared the Good News to the children with the help of some Living Balls. The children also got the opportunity to “practice” how to tell someone else about Jesus. This was one of the most blessed children services that we have attended.
| Eagles Nst Shelter, Pretoria |
Living Ball was invited by a Cell Group to play games with children from the Eagles Nest Shelter in the North of Pretoria.
Gavin made use of the opportunity to really emphasize to the children that they are special and that Jesus loves them. When he started playing with them, one of the boys was very quiet, and did not partake in any of the conversations. After a while, he was shouting out the meanings of the four colors when Gavin asked them some questions. Something really changed in this boy's life today... Every child was blessed with a Living Ball and a present that contained essential toiletries and some stationary. Thanks to Chris and his cell group for inviting us. |

 |
Winner of the "Name the puppets" Competition. This is Rene Meredith. She is from the Lofdal Retirement Village in Lyttelton. She entered the “Name the Puppets” competition in the Vessel newspaper, and named the four puppets. Click here to see what their names are. |

On this photo Morne Steyn is busy autographing the Living Ball. He is also wearing one of our wrist bands. A lot of professional sportsmen all over South Africa can be seen wearing our wrist bands. |
